The 3 Ws Of Flyer Design

Express Flyers & Leaflets

Flyer Design – A Quick Primer

Designing promotional print can be a tricky business if you are new to it or are filling in until you can get  professional flyer design. But if you keep these three basic ideas in mind for your design you can’t go far wrong.

Who!

Sometimes known as target audience, this is who are you aiming your design at. So keep in mind who you want to be reading your leaflet, and why they might want to pick it up. If it is for children make it bright and colourful. If it is for clubbers make it cool. If it is for Colcestrians put a picture of Jumbo on it. Stay on target.

What…

This is your message – the point of the flyer design. Don’t just say ‘Dave the plumber’, say – ‘I’m Dave the Plumber – employ me for this reason now or you will miss out’. If you want to encourage people to use your business you must give them a why, or they will probably choose someone else. Make your leaflet the message.

Where?

Leading on from this idea comes the where. Keep in mind whereabouts you are going to be leaving your leaflets. Whether you want them to be seen from the door mat of a leaflet drop, picked up in the dentist’s surgery, or handed over directly to existing customers. Keep your content brief and relevant to the situation.

The wrap up (and the why!)

Hope this helps to give you an idea of what to write and how to present it, but if you are still stuck with your flyer design then give us a call on 01206 430312 or buy one of our graphic design packages. Once you are ready to print your leaflets click here and we’ll get them sorted for you :)
